Fender USA 1983 / 1984 Stratocaster loaded pickguard. If you are going to restore that old Strat, you might as well do it right! This is one of those parts I can never keep in stock – it always sells very quickly. Up for sale is this vintage “loaded” pickguard for a Fender USA 1983 or 1984 “two-knob” Stratocaster. All the parts on this pickguard are from a 1984 Fullerton, California USA Strat. The vintage Fender USA pickups read the usual resistance (all three at around 5.6 Kohms) and have the code on the back (016730) and light blue and white wires that identify them as the real McCoy. It’s especially ideal for those who aren’t great at soldering. The pickguard itself is in better than usual shape cosmetically. As you would expect from a part over 30 years old, there are a few pickmarks on the guard. They are so light that I couldn’t get a clear picture of them. There are no cracks, breaks, or any damage to the guard. It has yellowed slightly, as you can see by the pictures of it sitting on a white background. The pickups look excellent, and all work as well as new. Their covers have yellowed a little more than the pickguard. The controls all function well, with no noise. All the wiring is factory stock and unmolested. The knobs are the only non-original parts on this item – they are new, and a better match than the knobs that were on the guard when I received it. Overall, this is a great-sounding collection of vintage parts in outstanding shape. Installation Notes: Although intended for a 1983 or 1984 Fender USA Strat restoration, this part will fit any standard Stratocaster body. It couldn’t be easier to install – screw the ground wire onto the body, and screw on the pickguard. That’s it – no soldering required! I’m not a faceless business but a life-long guitarist who can give you the personal touch. Most important, I’m happy to share my knowledge and help my customers with their parts installation. We have spent countless hours researching, to obtain all the information necessary to build a set of pickups that gets this Tone. We went through several dozen test sets in the development, fine tuning each to get as close as possible. We also had to order special magnets to stock for this set. The neck has a very unique stagger while the middle & bridge have the same stagger, but it is as well is different from traditional vintage stagger. These pickups are lower in output (not low output) providing that scooped mid range tone, very clean, while still full in the low end, provides that extreme crystal clean quack which is a signature characteristic to this set. The set has Hand Beveled Magnets, wax potted, & RWRP. Extensive testing was done on a Two Rock amp we have here at the shop and with just a touch of reverb from the amp it achieves tonal euphoria. These pickups also put your guitar in the tonal range so you can get some killer Hendrix and SRV tones.
