This listing is for regular 11 hole pickguard, and it will fit all Fender American, Mexico, Japanese, and Custom Shop strat with 11 mounting screw holes. Change the pickguard to a 8 hole vintage style pickguard or 62 hole pattern pickguard. The same American-made top quality cotton wrapped (shielded) wires used in Fender Custom Shop (Double-cloth jacket has a waxed cotton outer braid and a Celanese inner braid just like Leo used). Middle sounds great and is RWRP to eliminate hum in positions 2 & 4. It’s full, clear and warm. They clean up well by rolling off volume without losing clarity. You can roll the tone back to nail your desired jazz tone without losing punch. These pickups are made to sound slightly bigger without losing the vintage sweetness. Vintage Tone for Modern Times. The 1969 Jazz Strat set was inspired by a couple of amazing sets from the late 1960’s. This is the period of time in which the switch they started uses less wire on the pickups vs. The mid 60’s. The 60’s Strat pickups are known for being warmer or what some would even call a bit darker than the 50’s Strat Pickups. The use of less plain enamel copper magnet wire on late 60 vs. Mid 60’s delivered a smoother, clearer and more open tone. We used these late-60’s Strat’s as a tonal starting point. Using special materials along with our proprietary techniques we’ve added enhanced dynamics & increased sustain. This will also enable you to hear the previously hidden harmonics from your guitar. Unlike other pickups, they stay really articulate when you roll off the tone. You’ll notice these tonal differences immediately. These are the Best Strat Pickups for a Jazzy tone. They are a little more aggressive without losing the vintage sweetness. When distorted it will not get muddy. It really sounds great overdriven and can push an amp. A lot of stronger Strat pickups don’t sound very good clean but this one sounds great and can get super funky. In a lot of RWRP sets, positions 2 and 4 lack life. But these is plenty of bounce, spank and quack in positions 2 and 4 with this set. These pickups clean up great by rolling back the volume. They also work great with the tone pots to tame a harsh amp. Vintage Tone for Modern Times. It would have a logical step forward from the 50’s & 60’s. The way construct these things give you more Punch, Sting & Volume than our much loved 60’s pickups. The Punchy characteristic was inspired by the lack of vintage style pickups on the market with good Punchy tone.
