If you are going to restore that old Strat, you might as well do it right! Up for sale is this vintage “loaded” pickguard for a Fender USA 1983 or 1984 “two-knob” Stratocaster. The vintage Fender USA pickups read the usual resistances (5.6 Kohms) and have the code on the back (016730) that identify them as the real McCoy. It’s especially ideal for those who aren’t great at soldering. Condition: Very good, with light wear. The pickguard has aged and yellowed to a very attractive vintage-look cream. There is a tiny crack around the screw hole that is next to the neck pocket cutout – this affects nothing. The screw there still screws in normally. There are no other cracks, breaks, or any damage to the guard, just a few typical pickmarks. The pickups look good, and all work as well as new. All controls function well, with no noise, and the wiring is factory stock and unmolested. All other electrical parts are the originals. Are not the original parts. Overall, this is a great-sounding collection of vintage parts in great shape. Installation Notes: Although intended for a 1983 or 1984 Fender USA Strat restoration, this part will fit any standard Stratocaster body. It couldn’t be easier to install – screw the ground wire onto the body, and screw on the pickguard. That’s it – no soldering required!
