This is a loaded pickguard featuring a handwound set of Klein S-8 pickups. This set was based on the custom-wound pickups in David Gilmour’s legendary Black Strat , and wired up with some extra features! Neck 5.55k , Middle, 6.15k , Bridge 12.05k – with a custom 7.0k coil tap on the bridge. Add to that the custom 7k coil tap on the bridge, for a total of 29 UNIQUE TONES. DiMarzio Billy Corgan Loaded Strat Pickguard Black / Black Left Hand. This is a left handed version of our DiMarzio Billy Corgan Stratocaster loaded pickguard. DP225 BC1 – Neck DP184 Chopper – Middle DP226 BC2 – Bridge Positions 2 & 4 are split coil DP225 BC-1, DP184 Chopper, and DP226 BC-2 When we started working with Billy Corgan on the pickups for his signature Strat , we sent him several models to try out. He liked the Air Norton S¬¨Äin the neck, The Chopper¬¨Äin the middle and The Tone Zone S in the bridge. After playing them on several gigs, he asked for some changes in the neck and bridge pickups. He wanted a deeper sound from the low strings without losing any punch, and he didn’t want the sound to get muddy with high-gain amps. The end results are the pickups that are now in Billy’s signature Strat. They do exactly what he wants in humbucking mode, and he’s found they work really well in split mode as well. DP225 BC-1 Recommended For All positions, especially neck. DP225 BC-1 Tech Talk The output and DC resistance specs of the DiMarzio BC-1 and DiMarzio BC-2 are very similar to those of the Air Norton S. The difference is in the tuning of the coils, and how this affects the way they interact with each other. It can be described as more of a “feel” than a sound difference Billy’s pickups seem to move more air. DP226 BC-2 Recommended For All positions, especially bridge. Drop this pre-wired pickguard into a guitar with an 11-hole standard pickguard for a heavyweight sound that covers a lot of musical territory. The Pro Track is warm and friendly, with a classic neck humbucker sound. The Fast Track 1 is bright and clean, with enough power to keep up with the neck and bridge positions. The Fast Track 2 is our heaviest-sounding Strat-size humbucker, with a huge mid-range and bass punch. Need we say more? It’s got three times the output of an average single-coil, with a huge mid-range and bass punch and a strong resemblance to the Super 3. Combining it with a Pro Track , ¬¨ÄAir Norton S , BC-1¬¨Äor¬¨ÄThe Chopper¬¨Äin the neck position and The Cruiser¬¨Äor Fast Track 1 in the middle makes a guitar with an outstanding, heavy sound. DP181 The Fast Track 1 is hotter and more muscular than The Cruiser , but it’s still very bright and clean sounding not at all like a full-size humbucker. The dual-blade continuous magnetic field creates an even string balance with very little magnet-pull, eliminating the out-of-tuneness common to rod-magnet designs. You can also put a whole set of Fast Track 1 pickups in a Strat style guitar, or create custom sets with any of our other dual-blade models.
