This Mint Green on Aged White 11-hole Stratocaster loaded pickguard comes equipped with our Proper PassiveT tone system and a matched set of Proper Pickups South of the Border single coils. Proper PassiveT is our proprietary passive Strat wiring platform designed around one simple idea: give players everything they need and nothing they don’t. Just an incredibly musical, chewy, and responsive control layout that feels alive from 0-10. At lower settings, the system delivers warm, vocal tones with exceptional clarity and no mud. Wide open, it produces dynamic presence, touch sensitivity, and attack while preserving the natural character of the guitar. The real magic happens in positions 2 and 4. Unlike traditional Strat wiring, where positions 2 and 4 can sound thin or suffer a volume drop, Proper PassiveT keeps them balanced, full, and every bit as dynamic as positions 1, 3, and 5. It’s the gold standard for simple, elegant Strat wiring that performs beautifully at home, in the studio, or on stage. The South of the Border set is a slightly hotter version of our’64 Closetcaster set. More push, more vocal midrange, and a little more attitude while staying open, dynamic, and responsive. It gives the amp a little more to work with without losing what makes a great Strat set feel like a Strat. Up for grabs is this mint-on-mint 11-hole Strat loaded pickguard featuring a hand-wound, USA-made set of McCready-inspired single coils. This build uses a NOS Russian K75-12 paper-in-oil capacitor. 015µF / 400V – the highest-end capacitor we offer. It provides smooth, interactive tone control with zero mud and works perfectly with the discreet treble bleed for musical response across the entire sweep. This one component is a game changer. These pickups were designed to avoid the shrill edge the stock MIM McCready sets can have. We retained the McCready-style treble bleed so the volume control stays clear and expressive but without harshness. Built with the best components throughout. Specs.
