The pickups can be used in rail, P-90, series humbucking, or parallel humbucking modes depending on the combination of how the push/pull pots are set. Both tone pot knobs down will put both pickups in series humbucking mode. Both tone pot knobs up will put both pickups in parallel humbucking mode. One tone knob up and the other down will put the pickups in P-90 mode. Reverse that setting to get the Rail mode. The video is for the HSH configuration but the push/pull features are the same for this configuration.
